Postby rinorajan » Mon Mar 02, 2015 1:37 pm

Hi,

Kindly help me out on the belw.
While connecting from server to client(through ssh) am getting an error as below.

"Read from socket failed: Connection reset by peer"

Even I uncommented Ciphers as well(/etc/ssh/ssh_config) in client machine.

Hi,

This sounds almost like a permission problem on the server side. Assuming you have some other way of connecting to it (I would not know how you pasted your public key in their otherwise), check the sshd log file ( /var/log/auth.log but depending on your configuration file).

The log should point you in the right direction, but in particular you should set the permissions of ~/.ssh on the server to 700 with respective owner. It could also be the permissions of the files in ~/.ssh. Or on /etc/ssh or the files in there (which would mean other accounts on the server should have the same ssh login problems).

Hello Rino,

1. start monitoring the server's log file

Code: Select all
tail -f /var/log/auth.log

2. add -v to get a verbose output at the client end

Code: Select all
ssh user@clientip -v

This might give you more details about the cause. if the rsa and dsa keys are missing on the server, fix them by:

Code: Select all
ssh-keygen -t rsa1 -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key
ssh-keygen -t dsa  -f /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key

Hope it helped...

RHEL6 Read from socket failed Connection reset by peer

Postby Martinvodo » Tue Oct 11, 2016 11:03 pm

Is there any way to create an SMTP mail server will all granular permissions to it so that I can read emails which that server receives through any scripting language and also reply from the same server automatically?
